A few weeks ago I decided to build a mud kitchen for the boys.
I’d never built anything like this before.
No dad teaching me. No experience. Just a pile of wood, some tools, and a willingness to figure it out as I went.
There were plenty of mistakes.
Wrong cuts.
Frustration.
Trips back to the store.
Moments where I questioned what I got myself into.
But I kept going.
And somewhere along the way I realized this wasn’t really about building a mud kitchen.
It was about building memories.
It was about becoming the kind of father I wish I had growing up.
The boys have spent hours playing with it.
Every splinter, mistake, and mosquito bite was worth it.
These are the moments I’ll remember long after the wood wears out.
❤️
This is what matters.
