Long Island continues to rank among the most expensive places to live in New York, and in my interview with , I broke down why these towns consistently sit at the top of the list.
What stands out most is that the communities ranked highest in price also have school districts that rank among the best in the entire country. Pair that with Long Island’s unmatched quality-of-life drivers, beaches, parks, marinas, top restaurants, and easy access to both NYC and the Hamptons, and it becomes clear why demand remains strong year after year.
There’s also a significant market reality contributing to rising values: we’re still operating in one of the strongest seller’s markets in the country. Compared to this time in 2019, Nassau and Suffolk County have 53% fewer homes for sale, creating a significant supply-and-demand imbalance that continues to push prices upward across the Island.
All of these factors together explain why so many Long Island towns appear on the list of New York’s most expensive places to live, and why I feel they will continue to outperform.
I’m always proud to share my insights on News12, speaking about Long Island housing.
