Being a first time home buyer can be really nerve wrecking (trust me, I’ve been there) and it is even more confusing when you’re facing all these real estate terms you might not fully understand. Hopefully this could be a little help for new (or maybe even seasoned) home buyers.

Contingent: This term is used when offer on a home has been accepted but the sale has not been closed yet. (Think terms and conditions) Some of the possible contingents could be appraisals, home inspections, mortgages etc.
