Game changer

I just knew if I did not replace the missing bricks and they got painted that it was going to bother me. Luckily, we found enough bricks in the yard to replace the missing ones and for only $11 at Lowe’s, I was able to get some mortar to mix up.

It actually went better than I thought it was going to go! Especially after they painted you can’t even tell that they were patched!

Trying to work smarter and not harder! Using the fence being down to our advantage to get all the brunch and clippings out is the backyard. There was a huge pile we inherited when we moved in and this was the perfect opportunity to get it to the street!

Thank goodness for some bathroom trash cans!

And that’s not even a joke, the day after we moved in I was scrubbing stains out of the stairs. Thank goodness for Folex.

I do love a wood stair to match the wood flooring in the house, but an added perk that we weren’t expecting is how the new treads and risers are so much sturdier so much quieter. They don’t creek and groan when you walk on them like the carpeted stairs did!

Thank you to Floors By Moore for making this transformation happen. And follow for the next part of the process of stain!

Having sick and damaged trees so close to the house was something that worried me. Especially since we can get such strong storms. It was just a matter of time before they tried to come down themselves.

That happened to us in our last house. We moved in and a dead tree came crashing down in a storm, luckily just missing our car by inches!

I didn’t want to wait for that to happen with this house. So we had professionals take them down and now I have peace of mind knowing we won’t have to worry during the next storm!

Or maybe it’s because we have totally moved out of that section of the house and stoped using it. I just sneak into those rooms to see the progress. The popcorn is gone! Patching done, then next sanding, priming and painting.

Adding art is one of the simplest ways to shift how a space feels.

These landscape prints brought warmth and softness to this wall… quiet, layered, and easy to live with.

Some days at work look a little different and I get to enjoy views like this.

More details next week.
