📢 Attention Willow Pointe Homeowners

The Budget & Finance Committee meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, August 1, at 8:30 a.m.

While I appreciate the effort to involve homeowners, I know many residents work on Saturday mornings or have family commitments, making it difficult for everyone to attend.

Financial transparency is important enough that every homeowner should have a reasonable opportunity to participate or have their questions answered.

Remember, this is your Association and your money.

Every dollar collected through HOA dues belongs to the Association and should be managed with transparency, accountability, and in accordance with our governing documents.

A proper financial audit is intended to provide an independent review of the Association's financial records. Homeowner participation and committee reviews can be valuable, but homeowners should understand:

Who is performing the audit?

Is the accountant independent?

Will an independent audit report be issued?

How does the process comply with our bylaws?

These are reasonable questions that every homeowner has the right to ask.

📢 Willow Pointe Homeowners

Transparency and accountability are essential to a strong HOA because every homeowner contributes to our Association through their dues.

The Board has announced a Budget & Finance Committee Meeting on Saturday, August 1, at 8:30 a.m. I encourage all homeowners who are interested in how our Association's finances are managed to attend and participate.

Our governing documents state that the Treasurer shall "cause an annual audit of the Association books to be made by a public accountant at the completion of each fiscal year." As homeowners, we should all want to ensure that our governing documents are followed and that the Association's financial oversight is conducted properly.

There is nothing wrong with homeowners volunteering to review records or serving on committees. In fact, homeowner involvement is healthy for our community. However, it is also important that any required annual audit be completed in accordance with our bylaws.

I have respectfully asked the Board to clarify:

Whether this meeting is an internal financial review or the Association's official annual audit.

Whether a licensed public accountant or CPA has been retained to perform the audit required by the bylaws.

Whether the accountant is independent of the preparation of the Association's financial records.

Whether a written audit report will be issued and made available to the membership.

This is not about criticizing anyone or creating division. It is about ensuring the Association follows its governing documents and that every homeowner has confidence in the financial reporting process.

If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or would like clarification on this matter or any other HOA issue I encourage you to contact the Board directly. The best way to ensure your concerns are documented is to submit them through PAYHOA or by emailing [email protected].

📢 WILLOW POINTE HOA ELECTION – JUNE 9TH 📢

Willow Pointe homeowners, our annual election is coming up on June 9th. We currently have only three candidates running for three open Board positions.

If you are interested in serving the community, please consider running. According to our bylaws, nominations can be made from the floor during the annual meeting. This is your opportunity to step forward and help shape the future of Willow Pointe.

I would also encourage everyone to do their homework before assigning a proxy or casting a vote. Take time to learn about each candidate's background, leadership experience, past involvement in the community, and vision for Willow Pointe. Ask questions and make an informed decision.

As homeowners, we should carefully consider whether returning previous leadership to the Board is in the best interest of the community. We have spent the last year working to improve transparency, strengthen our finances, address long-standing maintenance issues, and move Willow Pointe forward. Many homeowners have also expressed concerns about the lack of an independent audit for several years and the need for greater financial accountability.

This election is not about personalities it's about the future of Willow Pointe. We need leaders who are committed to transparency, accountability, fiscal responsibility, and protecting property values.
