Whitetop Virginia cabin work picked back up, especially outside, full speed following a cold, snowy winter. Landscaping, signage, meditation labyrinth, stone bench, exterior staining and more downed tree clean up from Hurricane Helene were some of the many items seeing significant progress.

Chapter 3 of the Whitetop, Virginia cabin renovation and grounds work October 2025 - March 2026. Stump grinding, new metal roof, replaced rotted rail road tie basement wing walls, pumpkin carving, interior stone veneer work and the landscape plan completion.

The cabin renovation began with cleaning out old furniture, odds and ends along with removing the sheetrock that was on the walls. The cabin had a leaking foundation/basement, leaking roof, some settling issues with the porches and from what we have learned from neighbors had not been sealed or stained in over 20 years, if ever. Surrounding the cabin were the beautiful Oak and Maple trees towering over it. All trees were very old and most had issues that led us to remove several, we have since replanted a tree for each that was removed around the cabin. Many nights of camping in hammocks, air mattress and in the back of a Jeep began. Stay tuned for more to come soon.

The Hillbilly Deluxe - Southeastern Powersports Rally team got it done yesterday in the 24 Hours of Appalachia’s Chemical Valley Scramble. 1st Place in the A Division and overall winner in the UTV Class. The course was a nightmare. A combination of a tough course and a lot of rain caused the course to deteriorate quickly. Only 12 competitors completed the event out of approximately 60 that left the start line. Thanks to the soon to open Appalachian Outlaw Trails Off-Road Park for hosting the event!

Good luck to our Hillbilly Deluxe Rentals - Southeastern Powersports Rally Team as they tackle the very tough 24 Hours of Appalachia’s Chemical Valley Scramble Rally starting at 9:00AM this morning. 24 hours to complete 3 laps of the course. It was raining hard at the start line this morning and the route is very sloppy.

We are excited to announce the coming of our second rental in the Fall of 2026. A classic log cabin sitting in the Virginia Highlands at an elevation of 3,750' in Whitetop, VA. Surrounded by Christmas Tree farms, 4 acres of a working Christmas Tree farm on property, 3 minutes from the upper terminus of The Virginia Creeper Trail at Whitetop Station, 12 minutes from the Appalachian Trail crossing over Whitetop Mountain, 23 minutes from Grayson Highlands State Park, 2 minutes off the The Crooked Road: Viginia's Heritage Music Trail frequented by atuomobile and motorcycling enthusiest, surrounded by Washington National Forest and 30 minutes from Trail Town USA(AKA Damascus, VA). Over the next few months we will be posting about the year of restoration of the cabin and the clean up of the blow downs of trees from Hurricane Helene in the forest on the 17 acre property. Here are photos of where we began this project June 30, 2025. We will be posting of how we have progressed leading up to our opening this fall.
