Fairmount had the most charming and Historic Homes. 🤠🏠♥️
Fairmount Home Tour Preview — Day 8 Sneak Peek!
Today marks the Final Day of our sneak peek series for the 2025 Fairmount Home Tour—and while this home won’t be open for touring this year due to unforeseen circumstances and renovation delays, we’re excited to introduce it as a preview of what’s to come on a future tour!
The Goldgraber-Crouch House | 2111 Alston Avenue
Built c. 1915
(Not on 2025 Tour, Future Tour Preview)
The Goldgraber-Crouch House is a classic bungalow rich with Fairmount history and thoughtful restoration. Built around 1915, it saw a parade of early residents, from the entrepreneurial Barbuzza family to Ida Goldgraber, a prominent leader in the Texas chapter of The Council of Jewish Women, who advocated for Jewish refugees after WWI. Later owners included Ewell Muse, a traveling salesman, and Harry Crouch, a department manager under future Fort Worth mayor H.C. Meacham.
Architecturally, the home features hallmark Craftsman elements: a charming front gable with knee brackets, distinctive Arts and Crafts windows, and a classic bungalow front door. Inside, the standout feature is the meticulous restoration—what might surprise visitors is that many of the “original” built-ins, bookcases, colonnades, and plate rails were actually recently and expertly recreated by the current owner, reviving the home’s lost Craftsman charm.
Although this home won’t be on the tour this year, we’re thrilled to spotlight it—and we can’t wait to welcome you inside on a future Fairmount Home Tour.
Thank You and Home Tour Volunteers!!
As we wrap up this year’s sneak peek series, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible homeowners who have opened their doors, the dedicated Home Tour Board and volunteers, and a special shout-out to Jennifer Kindschi, Promotion Director for the Fairmount Neighborhood Association and this year’s Home Tour Chair. Without Jen’s leadership and tireless work, none of this would be possible!
Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of the Fairmount Home Tour in person.
