Big news out of the Town of Fishkill.

At the Town of Fishkill Regular Meeting of the Town Board held on October 15, 2025, Local Law #4 2025 was adopted repealing the Town’s Well Testing Law.

You will no longer need to supply a Well Test to the Town in order to sell or purchase a property in the Town of Fishkill.

Hopefully this will push Wappingers and East Fishkill to make the same change.

For those that dont know this water testing has been a requirement for almost 50 YEARS in these town in order to obtain the municipal report. It was put into place due to contamination cause by the East Fishkill IBM plant discovered in 1978.

When picking plants for your flow beds here are some that can help keep away the mosquitoes. I personally have lemon grass, lavender and marigolds by my pool and they work well.

If anyone witnessed a large black dump truck run a red Ford pickup truck off the road on RT9 in the area where they are working on the bridge by Kohls (Wappingers/Poughkeepsie) at around 10am this morning please let me or the dutchess county sheriff's office know. Thank you.

Using a Home Inspector who is also a NYS Licensed Mold Assessor can save you time and money. On today's inspection the home had an obvious past water issue in the basement that resulted in mold growth. There was an attempt to remediate the mold however there was still mold present. We were able to advise the buyer as to what remediation was still needed, the approximate costs involved and take air samples to determine the extent of the mold in the air. No need to wait for another company on another day at a higher cost.
