Rigby is having its MOMENT this weekend and you should be there. 🀠

Stampede Days 2026 is happening TODAY and tomorrow (June 19–20) in Rigby, and the theme this year is America 250 β€” celebrating 250 years of liberty, small-town style.

Here's what to expect:
πŸ‚ Rodeo at the Rigby Rodeo Grounds, 200 Veteran Memorial Drive
πŸŽ‰ Parade at 9 AM (yes, there will be candy)
πŸ” Food trucks + vendors at Larry Wilson Park 11 AM–4 PM
πŸ’Έ FREE admission β€” bring the whole family

This is exactly the kind of community energy that makes Jefferson County such a special place to live. Small towns like Rigby aren't just charming β€” they're communities where neighbors actually know each other. And those neighborhoods hold real value.

Big news for Ammon and all of eastern Idaho β€” the Chick-fil-A on 25th East in Ammon is closing June 25th for a major remodel and won't reopen until sometime late summer. 😱

This isn't just any Chick-fil-A. It's the ONLY freestanding location in all of eastern Idaho. The campus spots at BYU-I and ISU are it otherwise.

The renovation covers interior AND exterior updates β€” kitchen improvements, drive-thru upgrades, the works. The goal is to come back better than before. No hard reopening date has been confirmed yet, so stay tuned.

For real estate folks β€” this is a great reminder of how much Ammon has grown. A single Chick-fil-A has been serving this entire region for 15 years. That's a lot of demand for one location. πŸ‘€ The growth happening around that corridor β€” including the new Riviera Park development nearby β€” is only going to add more.

Idaho Falls is growing β€” and here's one of the biggest projects you may not have heard about yet. πŸ‘‡

Riviera Park is a 66-acre mixed-use development going in at the corner of Hitt Road (25th East) and Lincoln, right across from Costco. The plat is recorded and construction is already underway.

Here's what's coming: 🏠 385 apartments + 175 townhomes = 560 new households πŸ›’ New Broulim's grocery store as the anchor 🏒 Retail pads already pre-leased to credit unions, fast food & medical offices 🚢 Designed as a walkable live-work-shop community

This is exactly the kind of infill development that tells you a market is maturing. When a grocery store and medical offices are willing to pre-lease space in a neighborhood that doesn't exist yet β€” that's confidence in where this city is headed.

(And yes β€” the road work you're seeing right now on Hitt Road? That's the utility and roadway prep for this exact project.)

Heads up, Idaho Falls β€” Hitt Road (25th East) northbound has a lane closed near the Lincoln Road roundabout, and it's staying that way through the end of August. 🚧

Starting just north of the roundabout, crews are down to one lane all the way up to the Grand Peaks Medical area. Plan accordingly if that's part of your daily route β€” especially during peak hours.

Why? This isn't just road work for the sake of road work. It's all part of the buildout for Riviera Park β€” a massive new mixed-use development going in right there on the corner of Hitt and Lincoln across from Costco. Think underground utilities, full roadway upgrades... basically laying the groundwork for something big coming to that neighborhood.

More details on Riviera Park coming soon. Stay tuned. πŸ‘€

Saint Anthony’s got a β€œbefore Saint Anthony” story… and it starts with beaver hats and a winter camp in 1810.

Before eastern Idaho had towns, Andrew Henry and a trapping crew crossed the Divide and camped near today’s Saint Anthony along the Henrys Forkβ€”one of the earliest American fur-trade pushes in what became Idaho. It was brutal, supplies were tight, and they bailed the next spring… but Henry’s name stuck to the river (and the region) forever.

A bookstore AND a bakery β€” in Rigby. Coming this July. πŸ“šπŸ₯

The Nook and Cranny is opening at 127 W. Main Street in Rigby (the old Pandora's Chocolate building), and it might be the coziest concept to hit SE Idaho in a while. Homemade sourdough, scones, muffins, soup β€” plus a family-friendly, faith-based book selection with a lounge area where kids can sit and read.

Owner Loretta Anderson moved back to Rigby in 2022 and felt called to build something for her community. And between this, the new Sug'r Me Sweet Confections just one block over, and more tenants coming β€” Rigby's Main Street is quietly becoming a really compelling little downtown.

This is what community investment looks like. And it's one more reason people are paying attention to smaller SE Idaho towns when they're thinking about where to plant roots.

If I could tell you one thing about life in Eastern Idaho, it's this…

It has a way of settling you.

People come here for the acreage, the outdoors, the cost of living. But they stay because of something harder to put into words β€” the way a Tuesday evening feels when you're watching the kids play outside until 9pm in July, or the way a Saturday morning hits different when your backyard backs up to a field and the Tetons are just there on the horizon.

Families move here and find that life slows down in the best possible way. There's no grinding commute stealing two hours from your day. No noise. No hustle just to keep up. Kids are outside. Neighbors actually know each other. Weekends look like farmers markets in Idaho Falls, float trips down the Snake, day trips to Island Park, or just β€” nothing. Glorious, unhurried nothing.

And yes, we have winters. Real ones. But there's something about a snow day in a community like this that doesn't feel like a burden β€” it feels like a pause you didn't know you needed.

The thing I hear most, once people are settled in? "I wish we'd done this sooner."

If Eastern Idaho has been on your radar, take that seriously. It's not just a practical decision β€” it's a quality-of-life one.

Comment β€œIDAHO” and I'll send you my free relocation guide. Let's talk about what life here could actually look like for you and your family.

Shelley you showed up!!

I stopped by the first Shelley farmers market of the season last night and it did not disappoint.

Great food, local bakers, fresh produce, live community vibes and plenty of grass to kickback and enjoy a beautiful Idaho evening.

One of my favorite things about living in East Idaho is how easy it is to connect with neighbors, support local businesses and spend a few hours simply enjoying the community.

If you haven’t checked it out, add it to your summer to-do list - every Thursday 430 to 730pm. And trust me, come hungry.

Rigby's sweetest spot just got even sweeter. 🍫

Pandora's Chocolate has a new name, new owners, a new location β€” and now they're making their own ice cream from scratch. Sug'r Me Sweet Confections opened its doors at 151 W. Main Street, Suite C in Rigby, and it's everything you want in a local small business.

Laura and Tyson Allen are hometown Rigby people who bought the shop to give back to their community. They upgraded to a bigger space specifically to build a real commercial kitchen for homemade ice cream and Italian ice β€” on top of all the hand-dipped chocolates and fudge the old shop was known for. And they always have samples. πŸ™Œ

Small towns investing in themselves, local owners keeping it local β€” this is exactly why SE Idaho is such a special place to live and raise a family.

Blackfoot officially has its first Starbucks β€” and it opened May 5th at 1221 Parkway Drive. β˜•

This might sound like just a coffee shop, but there's a real estate story here worth knowing. Starbucks does serious market research before they commit to a location β€” population growth trends, traffic counts, income demographics. When they show up in a smaller city, it's because the data told them to.

Blackfoot's Parkway Drive corridor has been growing steadily for years. A national anchor like this is exactly the kind of development that attracts more retailers and supports surrounding property values.

Congrats, Blackfoot. You officially have a Starbucks. The commute just got a little more civilized.
