I may have shared this before, but it’s important and significant to consider, especially living in Idaho. “Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers in the United States”. When we moved back to Idaho, I tested our home after we bought it, and the reading came back over double the EPA recommended limit. We had a company install a mitigation system, and that initial reading dropped about 90% to just over 1 pCi/L. A test is free or cheap, and the mitigation system is affordable especially when compared to the potential cost of cancer treatments or loss of life. As a Realtor, I recommend getting your home tested and addressing mitigation, if necessary. As a trained Radiologic Technologist (Rad/x-ray tech) who was taught the principles of cumulative radiation dose and effects of radiation on young people, I strongly recommend you getting your home tested and mitigated. As a father, I urge you to get your home tested and mitigated to protect your little ones from this silent killer. The process and price worth it.

I got certified as a Short-sale and Foreclosure Resource over 2 years ago. Since then, I've chatted with a number of folks about their situations of facing foreclosure after they received their Notice of Default. I'm a Realtor, a professional who helps people buy and sell real estate, but I'm also SFR certified, so I help and educate people in these situations about their options that doesn't have to lead to them losing their homes. Foreclosures in SE Idaho aren't going crazy, but they still occur. If you know anyone who is in this predicament, please reach out to me or point them in my direction. I'd like to be able to help folks before it's too far down the path that can't avoid foreclosure.
