We are honored to receive a Thome Aging Well grant to support the expansion of the Telehealth Intervention Program for Seniors (TIPS) to a Jonathan Rose Companies’ affordable housing property in Detroit, Michigan. Thanks to the generosity of the Edward N. and Della L. Thome Memorial Foundation, Bank of America trustee, 22 organizations in Maryland and Michigan were selected through a competitive process by Enterprise Community Partners to expand successful aging-in-place programs.

We are pleased to share the news of 1999 W 3rd St groundbreaking, Jonathan Rose Companies' first ground-up development on the West Coast. 1999 W 3rd St, once constructed, will provide 137 units of affordable housing, ranging from 30% - 80% of the area median income to the Westlake Neighborhood in Los Angeles.

With construction financing now in hand, the Jonathan Rose Companies has announced the imminent start of construction of a new affordable housing complex at 1999 W. 3rd Street - the organization's first project on the West Coast.

We are proud to announce in a joint venture with Preservation of Affordable Housing Chicago (POAH), the purchase of the 318-unit Jackson Park Terrace. Located in Chicago’s South Side at 6040 South Harper Avenue, the property was acquired by the Rose Affordable Housing Preservation Fund V in a joint venture with Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), which has preserved or built more than 1,000 mixed-income apartments and homes in Woodlawn over the past decade.

The 318-unit Jackson Park Terrace Apartments, 6040 S. Harper Ave. in Woodlawn, were sold for $25 million to Jonathan Rose Companies and Preservation of Affordable Housing. Rose Community Management is proud to add Jackson Park Terrace to our portfolio of managed communities.

“We feel that it is both an obligation and a privilege to preserve this historic development,” Taft said. “It is perhaps ironic that Jackson Park Terrace was created to provide affordable housing that the private market would not, [while] the need now is to protect this valuable asset from market pressures.”

The commitment to maintain affordable housing at Jackson Park Terrace comes as Woodlawn residents work to prevent displacement amid the Obama Center’s construction.
