A picnic at camp usually starts with a plan and ends with staying longer than expected.

Find a spot by the water, spread out a blanket, pass around sandwiches, and let the day unfold from there. No schedule. No rush. Just good food, fresh air, and time spent outside together.

Long days are back and adventure season is in full swing.

Spend the morning on Kings Flow, take the afternoon underground exploring caves, or set out to see how much of camp you can cover before sunset. Around here, June isn't about doing more, it's about staying outside longer.

There’s water to explore, trails to wander, and no reason to rush back in.

June has a way of stretching time.

Morning coffee turns into lake time. One trail becomes two. You look up and somehow the sun still hasn't set.

This is the season for staying outside a little longer, jumping in the water one more time, and remembering there's nowhere else to be.

Two new ways to experience camp.

Introducing the West A-Frame and the Shasta Camper

Two cozy retreats tucked away in the woods at Camp Chimney Mountain. Whether you're enjoying a quiet morning on the A-Frame's covered porch or gathering around the Shasta's private fire pit, both spaces were created for slowing down, unplugging, and making memories in the Adirondacks.

Now booking for the season.

Water moving through the creek throughout a long Adirondack day.
The kind of sound that makes you stay outside a little longer.

This is one of our favorite parts of camp. Nothing staged, nothing busy, just the woods doing what they’ve always done.

At camp, some of the best moments are the quiet ones.

Bike to Work Day looks a little different out here.

This morning, Carter traded traffic for trail water and took the scenic route along the shallow end of Kings Flow. Around here, the commute comes with mountain air, quiet water, and a reminder to slow down and enjoy the ride.

Whether you bike to work, paddle to the dock, or just take the long way home, today was a good day to be outside.

Some summers never really leave you.
They live on in old photos, familiar stories, and the traditions families come back to year after year.
The same cabins.
The same walk down to the water.
The same evenings that somehow always end around a fire.
Generations grow up with their own version of camp...
but the feeling stays much the same.
Memorial Day weekend has always marked the beginning of it here.
A return to simpler days, familiar routines, and time spent together the way it used to be.
And every season, a new set of memories quietly joins the old ones.
Happy International Family Day from Camp Chimney Mountain.
