Are you a parent who has survived e-learning with your kids? My team at Gallery of Homes Real Estate has been trying to come up with a way to honor (and pamper) you brave souls. How to enter: Since I'm a Realtor, and since you've already spent a ton of time at home with your kid/s, I want you to post a pic of your happy place in your house. It can be a favorite chair, a garden spot, a wall of family photos... whatever gives you joy at home. To get us started I'm posting my own happy place in the comments. Show me yours!

What do you think of this corner fireplace?

Victorian House: "These types of fireplaces, called “kakelugn” in Swedish, are very common in old Swedish apartments, but they are usually quite understated with white tile and small metal doors that open so you can see the fire. This show stopping version sits in a gorgeous flat in the Old Town section of Stockholm in a building designed in 1878 by architect Isak Gustaf Clason (who also did Östermalms Saluhall, an indoor food market which is a must-see on anybody’s visit Stockholm list).

The Ora Pelton House, or the Izzo-Pelton House, is a historic residence in Elgin, Illinois. The Stick-Eastlake residence is the only Victorian house remaining on South State Street, formerly a wealthy area. It was built for Dr. Ora Levant Pelton, a physician and surgeon, by local architect Gilbert M. Turnbull. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The house has remained in the hands of only two families since its construction: the Pelton family to 1955, and the Izzo family since. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 1982. The rectangular, three-story house is laid on a stone foundation. It features many aspects typical of the Queen Anne Style, but its comparative austerity is typical of Stick-Eastlake designs. Porch columns and the second floor balcony are particularly representative of the Eastlake Movement. The only significant change to the exterior is a 1920s one-storey addition on the southwest corner of the house. A carriage house, built in 1890, still stands in the backyard.
