The KCG Corporate Office and our on-site locations are closed today in observance of Juneteenth.

✊🏾 Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in U.S. History, reminding us that freedom and equality are rights for everyone, all the time. On this day in 1865, enslaved people in Texas finally learned that they had been freed, over 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. The rental housing industry honors this day by reaffirming our commitment to fair housing for everyone, celebrating the progress made and acknowledging the work ahead.

As we reflect on this day, let us also express our heartfelt gratitude to their families and loved ones who have endured profound loss. We owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid, but we can honor their memory by living our lives with the same spirit of service and commitment.

A huge “shout out” to our cross-department team that collaborated with Adult and Child Health to complete the 2024 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute!
The Supportive Housing Institute is a premier workshop experience that helps housing developers, service providers, property managers, and community-based organizations jumpstart supportive housing projects for families experiencing homelessness. The KCG team was one of four teams selected through a competitive process and invited to participate in this 16th year of the institute.
Over the course of 4 months, the KCG Team consisting of development, property management and compliance team members, attended 11 days of educational sessions on topics including Supportive Housing 101, Coordinated Entry 101, Services Philosophy, Dimensions of Quality and Endorsement, Capital Funding, Eviction Prevention and much more.
Yesterday was the finale with group presentations to an audience of nearly 70 attendees and feedback sessions on the projects presented. Special thanks to Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and CSH, for their support of the institute.

This year, KCG partnered with Foster Fairies Inc. and sponsored 3 children for Christmas. Thank you to everyone in our company who sent donations to meet the needs of the foster children and to our helpers who wrapped everything up for the donation and made it look perfect. It’s great to see the team living out our Vision Statement, “Building better lives through better communities.”

We are excited to announce another KCG Companies closing!! Amber Meadows, a new construction, 9% family deal in Longview, Texas is KCG’s seventh deal in the state of Texas. This project will consist of three buildings, including a total of 66 LIHTC units. This is a fully integrated deal for KCG including KCG Development, KCG Design, KCG Construction, and KCG Residential (property management.) Amber Meadows is KCG’s 27th project to close overall! It took a team effort to get this deal to the finish line, and we want to thank everyone who helped along the way. Thank you again to the whole team, CREA, LLC and Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust and we look forward to bringing this project to the City of Longview!

Our Annual Trick or Treat party for our KCG Companies’ family members was a huge success. Trophies were awarded for Best Costume, Best Pumpkin and Best Decorations. Our remote sites were able to join in and we had some of the cutest little trick or treaters! Thanks to all who attended and to those who helped make it such a successful event.

We are excited to announce another closing! Recently, we closed Hill House at Beechfield, a new construction, senior deal in Bowie, Maryland located in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Hill House is KCG’s second deal in this state. This project will be one building consisting of 150 senior, LIHTC units. The project is scheduled to be completed in April of 2025.
Hill House is KCG’s first closing of 2023 and our 26th project to close overall. Thank you to everyone who helped get this deal to the closing table and a special shout out to our partners: Streetscape, Truist, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and Prince George's County, Maryland.
