I’m busy writing postcards to help get out the vote this fall in Indiana. My late mother-in-law and her friends got me involved with this effort in 2024 and I’m proud to continue.

No matter which side of the aisle you sit on, we are all in the same room and we must make our voices heard- even during midterms. Indiana’s voter turnout numbers are among the lowest in the US. That must change.

Trail of the week: Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park on the Near Westside of Indianapolis on the campus of Newfields.
I was in the neighborhood to check on my Oldfields listing AND to show a buyer a property, so the timing was just right for a late afternoon stroll.
-FREE ENTRY dawn to dusk
-Stunning large-scale interactive sculpture and wooded trails around a lake and along the White River.
-Very easy terrain, suitable for all ages.
-Connects to the Canal Tow Path trail and has bike racks if you want to ride and lock up. Also- there’s a good amount of parking if you were in your car like me today!

Trail of the week: Eagle Creek Park Blue Trail in Northwest Indianapolis. It is my go-to at the park when I don’t have much time to commit. Indy Parks and Rec
-$6 entry for Marion County residents
-Hilly and diverse terrain, but not super challenging
-Leashed dogs are allowed (and I can report that both the dogs and owners are typically well-behaved)
-Gorgeous lake views
-Saw lots of migrating White Pelicans!

I did 13 miles on the Monon Trail today. It is known world-wide for being an amazing example of rail-to-trail infrastructure that supports community, housing, and commerce. I am so lucky to live just a few blocks away from it. If you’re looking for a home on or near the Monon in Indianapolis or Carmel- 📞📲💻 me!
