For my Indy People!
If you’re cleaning out your closets, cupboards and garages, St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is ready to take your stuff! And to make it easy, we’re hosting Stuff-A-Truck events almost every month! The neighbors we serve are in need of items—everything from clothing and linens to household goods and furniture.
We will have trucks at parishes on the following Saturdays, 9-11am:
• April 12 – St Christopher (5301 W 16th, Speedway)
• May 10 – St Gabriel (6000 W 34th St, Ind)
• July 12- St Christopher
• Aug 16 – St. Gabriel
• Oct 11 – St. Christopher
• Nov 8 - St Gabriel
Donors should simply drive up and place their donations by the truck. SVdP volunteers will load the donations into the truck.
Acceptable Items
All donations are appreciated; however the following items are usually in short supply:
• Washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves (no gas appliances)
• Dressers, chests of drawers, night stands
• Bicycles (adult sizes preferred)
• Dining room or kitchenette tables and chairs
• Small appliances: toasters, irons, can openers, coffee makers, slow cookers
• Pots and pans and cooking/eating utensils
• Dishes, glassware
• Fans, area rugs, vacuum cleaners
• Couches, loveseats, upholstered chairs, sectional sofas (no more than 2 pieces), recliners, coffee and end tables
• Soft goods: clothing, shoes, purses, bed linens, towels, blankets, curtains
Please put your clothing and other soft good donations into plastic trash bags and household items in boxes.
Keep in mind, we are seeking basic household items that are in good enough condition to give to people without resources to purchase them. Torn, broken or dirty items, although offered to SVdP in good faith and good intent, will be declined. Questions? Call MaryAnn Kesler 317-374-4841

Summer is the perfect time to roll up your sleeves and dive into some home improvement projects that not only boost your home's value but also enhance your living experience.

Let’s get started!

Deck or Patio Upgrade

Take advantage of the warm weather to refurbish or build a deck or patio.

Landscaping Makeover

Refresh your garden with some new plants, a vegetable patch, or revamp your entire landscaping to create a lush, inviting outdoor space.

Exterior Painting

Give your home a facelift with a new coat of paint. Summer's dry weather is ideal for painting outdoors, ensuring quicker drying times and better results.

Window Replacement

Improve energy efficiency and curb appeal by replacing old windows with new, energy-efficient models. This can also help reduce cooling costs during the hot summer months.

Kitchen or Bathroom Refresh

These areas offer the best return on investment. Consider updating fixtures, painting cabinets, or replacing countertops to give these essential spaces a fresh look.

🛠️ Ready to start your summer projects? Each of these improvements can add significant value to your home and make your everyday environment more enjoyable.

With the summer season in full swing, it's the ideal time to spruce up your home's presentation, whether you're preparing to sell or simply refreshing your living space.

🔖Save these top tips for staging your home this summer.

1) Light & Airy Fabrics

Swap out heavy textiles for lighter fabrics. Think cotton throws, linen drapes, and sheer window treatments to let in that beautiful summer light.

2) Brighten Up

Use a neutral palette with pops of cheerful summer colors like turquoise, coral, or yellow. These hues can be incorporated through pillows, vases, or artwork.

3) Bring the Outdoors In

Add greenery in every room. Indoor plants not only enhance the look of your space but also improve air quality. Fresh cut flowers can add a lovely touch too.

4) Highlight Outdoor Living Areas

Emphasize patios, decks, and porches by arranging outdoor furniture in a welcoming layout. Show potential buyers or guests the potential of indoor-outdoor living.

5) Create a Summer Vibe

Accessorize with summer-themed decor items like bowls of fresh fruits, beachy trinkets, or a set of stylish coasters for that sun-kissed feel inside your home.

6) Declutter

Keep surfaces clean and clutter-free. This allows the beauty of your summer staging to stand out and makes spaces feel more open and calming.

🏡 Are you ready to put your home on the market this summer or need help making your space more inviting?

Apply these staging tips to ensure your property stands out in the competitive market!

If you're staying local this Memorial Day weekend, consider these heartfelt ways to honor our nation's heroes right from your community or home:

❤️Host a Stars & Stripes Backyard BBQ: Dedicate your weekend to celebrating our heroes with a themed cookout. Ask guests to wear stars and stripes, grill up some classic BBQ dishes, and add a patriotic dessert or signature cocktail to the mix.

🤍Send a Care Package: Support our troops by sending a care package through supportourtroops.org. Popular items include gift cards for WiFi access, personal hygiene products, laundry pods, and entertainment like movies/music on USB drives. Don’t forget non-perishable snacks like beef jerky, protein bars, and instant coffee.

💙Watch the National Memorial Day Concert: Tune into PBS on Sunday, May 28, at 8:00 PM EST for the National Memorial Day Concert. Experience a moving tribute featuring celebrity performances, honoring the service and sacrifice of our military members.

❤️Visit Local Veterans Sites: Spend some time visiting local monuments or memorials dedicated to veterans. It’s a profound way to reflect on the bravery and sacrifices of our soldiers.

🤍Participate in a Community Parade: Check if your community is hosting a Memorial Day parade. It’s a great way to show support and enjoy some local color with friends and family.

How will you be commemorating this important day? Share your plans or ideas below, and let's remember the true meaning of Memorial Day together!
