I think one of the best things that happens when you get comfortable doing things on your own is that you start realizing how much freedom there is in it.

You don’t have to wait until someone is available.
You don’t have to convince anyone to come along.
You don’t have to keep putting the things you want to do on hold because nobody else is interested.

You can just decide.
Decide to take the drive.
Decide to try something new.
Decide to spend an afternoon somewhere you’ve never been.
Decide that your own company is enough for the day.

And no, it doesn’t mean you never want people in your life. It just means you stop making other people’s availability the requirement for enjoying yours.

There’s a whole different kind of confidence that comes from knowing you can take yourself places, figure things out, have a good time, and come home with stories that are yours.

That’s the kind of freedom I’m interested in.

Not waiting for someday.
Not waiting for someone.
Just getting out there and seeing what’s around the next corner.
