Urban Patch

Urban Patch The Urban Patch's goal is to "Make the American Inner City Better."

The Urban Patch aims to take an incremental and resourceful approach to neighborhood development and urban design. Each step will include an aspect that takes on the built fabric of the city (the urban) and in parallel an aspect that addresses the environmental fabric of the city (the patch) while incorporating both into the social, economic and cultural dynamics and considerations that are necessary for a successful and resilient urban community.

We're working to make our community strong, affordable, and healthy. We have affordable housing, and urban farm, and classes to help you eat from your garden all year long. We also have resources to help families create their own family website in order to preserve their history and legacies. We're working to make the Inner City better! We will be announcing our events, farmers market dates, and other projects for 2026 for Urban Patch, and for Moore Heritage Projects and Farms. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements, and activities.

5. **Carnival Squash:** Carnival squash is a hybrid of acorn and sweet dumpling squash. It has a multicolored, mottled skin and a mildly sweet flavor. It's versatile for roasting or stuffing.

I’m looking for friends and family who may be interested in helping a friend of mine, Doressa Kupke, to meet her goal of raising enough money to ensure that 50 orphaned or vulnerable children have enough food to eat in Kenya. Each meal costs just 19¢. For $50 a year, you can feed one child for an entire year. Presently, there is a 2:1 matching grant for your gif making your gift double in value.
These kids don’t have a parent at home to help provide, protect, and guide them. I’d like to invite you to join me in being surrogate parents in their lives.
The approach is simple. The kids receive one secure meal each day at their public elementary school. The community provides the labor; we provide the bulk maize and beans.
By eating at school, the children:
Prioritize education (instead of searching for small jobs around the village for food),
Can concentrate and perform well at school,
Develop properly (physically and mentally),
And are allowed to pursue a pathway out of poverty through education.
If we can just get them to school regularly, the organization I work for does everything else to ensure they reach their full potential (e.g., wrap them with psychosocial support, empowerment training, and tuition support for their high school and college years.)
If you are interested in making life a little more bearable for those who suffer the most in the world, you can donate by clicking here. Any amount helps! I’d love it if you considered giving today.
