Jaywalking When Crosswalks Are Just Feet Away—Why Take the Risk?

We’ve all seen it and since I am out and about with Buyers—someone darts across a busy street, dodging traffic, even though a clearly marked crosswalk is just a few feet away. It might seem harmless or quicker in the moment, but jaywalking in high-traffic areas—especially when safe crossings are close by—can be dangerous and frustrating for both pedestrians and drivers. It's bad enough that from Irvington to downtown on the east side, they made New York and Michigan Streets two-way instead of Michigan one-way West and New York one-way East, but now they have added crosswalks with lights to help people cross safely...I still can't go East on Michign, it just feels wrong!...
