This morning brought an unexpected visitor to our office...
A stray dog seeking shelter from the changing weather. When we saw she was injured and hungry, our team didn't hesitate to open our doors, provide food, and give her the care she needed to feel safe. She's already become the office favorite, spreading smiles throughout our workspace and even showing her gratitude with a sweet kiss to one of our team members. đâ¤ď¸
But what happened next perfectly embodies how we operate at Sojos Capital. Without any formal meeting or approval process, our team naturally collaborated â someone grabbed first aid supplies, another found food and water, while others helped her find an office to call her home for the day. Our "24-hour rule" of speaking up with kindness kicked in as team members openly shared ideas about the best care for our new friend, checking their egos at the door to focus on what mattered most.
This spontaneous act of compassion mirrors our investment philosophy. Just as we saw potential in this vulnerable pup and immediately mobilized resources to help, we approach community investments the same way â recognizing opportunity where others might see challenges, responding with urgency and accountability, and thinking creatively about solutions. Whether it's revitalizing neighborhoods like The Square or caring for a stray dog, our commitment remains the same: leveraging our collective resources to enrich lives and build trust through meaningful action.
Sometimes the most profound examples of our values happen in the smallest moments. Today reminded us why we prioritize people (and their four-legged companions) over capital, and how our mindset for continuous improvement extends to every interaction â even the unexpected ones. đâ¤ď¸
This is what it looks like when integrity, collaboration, and community impact aren't just words on a wall â they're the foundation of how we show up every day.
