We finished this house last night AND welcomed our first guest today!

This Bates Hendricks bungalow came together in a sprint. Designed and furnished through a Lazy Sunday × Turnaround Repairs collaboration.

No buffer.
No margin.
Just a whole lot of teamwork and trust

This space is intentional, it has a modern craftsman feel with subtle nods to Indy and has sports layered throughout.

Our owners (based in California ☀️) wanted someone local, detail-obsessed, and who would truly care. We’re so grateful to now support them as co-hosts!

And none of this happens without our team. We genuinely couldn’t do this without them, and we’re so lucky to work alongside people who bring us joy every day 🤍

We just got back from a stay in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina for a 9 night stay and I can’t stop thinking about it.

We almost booked somewhere else… but kept coming back to this one because of the reviews. Not the photos (there weren’t even professional ones), but what people said about how it felt to stay there.

The cabin itself wasn’t perfect.
Very worn in. Mismatched. Simple.
Creative. Personal.

it was exactly what we needed.

We slowed down.
Coffee on the porch.
Music playing (CDs how fun!)
Actually talking.

It reminded me that a great guest experience isn’t about perfect design or beautiful furniture.

It’s about what the space allows.

Connection.
Between host and guest.
Between the people staying there.

Rich’s imperfect cabin was absolutely perfect. And it has us really inspired for what’s next with Lazy Sunday.

Less focus on perfect.
More focus on meaningful 🦥
