We're excited to share that Aaron Girson has joined the ΣAM Foundation staff as chief executive officer, effective January 3, 2023. Aaron is responsible for the day-to-day operations and ex*****on of the board of directors’ Vision 2030 plan. Aaron is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he was a founding member of the Delta Nu chapter.

“We are all so pleased that Aaron rejoined the Sigma Alpha Mu Foundation staff as our chief executive officer,” shared Foundation President Bob Weiss. “His work with the Foundation as a volunteer and as a previous staff member makes him the perfect candidate to fill this role. “

Aaron returns to Sigma Alpha Mu after ten years as vice president of the Triangle Education Foundation, where he oversaw major gift campaigns that raised more than $12 million. Prior to Triangle, Aaron had more than eighteen years of experience with Sigma Alpha Mu, where he served as a field representative, director of Chapter Services, Fraternity executive director, and Foundation executive vice president. His accomplishments during that time included Sigma Alpha Mu’s successful $5 million Centennial Campaign. Please join us in welcoming Aaron to the ΣAM Foundation team!

We are proud to announce:

Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity hired Ken Schneider as the Director of Development, Alumni & Real Estate.

Ken attended Chapman University where he joined the fraternity in 2010 and earned a degree in history. From 2014-2016, Ken worked on Sigma Alpha Mu staff as an Educational Leadership Consultant before leaving to get his Master's Degree from the London School of Economics. Before rejoining SAM, Ken worked in non-profit engagement, community building, and leadership development with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

As Director of Development, Alumni & Real Estate, Ken will lead the acquisition of housing for chapters for SAM National Properties through their established investment model. This position will also advance the strategic priority of alumni development to support active chapters and the growth of our active chapter roll. He brings significant experience to this role as the former Young Alumnus Consul of the Octagon 2018-2020.

“Ken’s previous staff and volunteer experience with Sigma Alpha Mu has uniquely prepared him to advance strategic priorities of real estate and alumni development. He has remained a proud champion of our mission and vision while demonstrating professional success with other non-profit organizations,” shared Executive Director Andy Huston. “I am excited to have Ken back on our team to enthusiastically lead these initiatives.”

Ken Schneider shared, “Sigma Alpha Mu has meant so much to my personal and professional development. The opportunity to help this organization grow and thrive into the future is one that is beyond exciting and will motivate me on a daily basis. I also look forward to interacting with our fantastic alumni who share a common love for this fraternity and the impact it can have.” Ken began working full-time for the fraternity on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, remotely from Detroit, Michigan.

Sigma Alpha Mu was founded in 1909 at the College of the City of New York as a fraternity of Jewish men; the organization has been open to all men of good moral character since 1953. Sigma Alpha Mu’s vision is to be the first choice of collegians seeking a forward-thinking, inclusive fraternity which enhances the university experience and prepares the fraternity member for a fulfilling life. With its International Headquarters located in Indianapolis, IN, the fraternity currently has 46 collegiate chapters and over 59,000 living alumni.

We are pleased to announce that Teresa Wright has been promoted to President of SAM Property Mgt, LLC, a subsidiary of SAM National Properties, LLC. Ms. Wright will succeed Leland Manders, who is retiring from his position on December 31, 2020. Manders will continue to act as a consultant for the Fraternity’s National Housing Corporation (SAM National Properties, LLC) and will focus on acquisitions, investor relations, and renovation projects on an as-needed basis.

Ms. Wright joined SAM Property Management in February 2019 as Property Manager and was promoted to Vice President of the company in the fall of 2019. She has over 15 years extensive experience in commercial property management having formerly worked for Duke Realty, CBRE, Inc., and JLL Realty in Senior Property Manager and General Manager positions respectively. Since joining SAM Property Management, Teresa has been instrumental in the implementation of various administrative projects, daily operations, and also the adoption of SAM PM’s property management software platform, designed to help automate and manage leasing, maintenance, and rent collection activities on behalf of the House Corporations that currently contract with SAM Property Management. She is skilled at building vendor and tenant relationships, while implementing lease administration and financial reporting for her clients.
