A small button can provide a big layer of protection.

Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter—or GFCI—outlets are especially important in Florida homes because electricity and moisture are a dangerous combination.

These outlets are designed to help protect against electrical shock by quickly interrupting power when they detect an imbalance in electrical current.

🔌 WHERE SHOULD YOU CHECK?

✔️ Bathrooms
Test outlets near sinks and other wet areas.

✔️ Kitchen
Pay particular attention to outlets serving countertop areas near water.

✔️ Garage
Check outlets where tools, appliances, or other electrical equipment may be used.

✔️ Outdoor outlets
Florida rain and humidity make properly functioning exterior GFCIs especially important.

✔️ Pool & spa areas
Electrical safety around pools and spas is critical. Make sure required protection is in place and functioning properly.
