One of today’s findings was a Federal Pacific “Stab-Lok” electrical panel. These panels were commonly installed in homes from the 1950s–1980s and are known for potential safety concerns involving breakers that may fail to trip properly during an overload or short circuit.

If you currently own a home with one of these panels — or are considering purchasing a home that has one — it does not automatically mean there is an immediate hazard, but it is something that should be evaluated by a licensed electrician. Many homeowners choose to replace these panels for improved safety and peace of mind.
