After walking through hundreds of homes with buyers, I’ve noticed a pattern.
Most homes aren’t too small — they’re just overcrowded
1. The overfilled bookshelf
When every shelf is packed tight, buyers don’t see character, they see lack of storage.
2. The giant area rug in a small room
If it eats up the whole floor, it visually shrinks the space.
3. Countertop decor clusters
Trays, bowls, faux plants, stacked cookbooks. It feels styled to you… crowded to buyers.
4. The oversized bed frame
Huge headboards and bulky footboards can make bedrooms feel way smaller than they are.
5. The kitchen counter lineup
Air fryer. Coffee machine. Toaster. Knife block. Paper towels. Buyers don’t see “functional.” They see limited counter space.
6. The wall gallery overload
Too many frames = visual noise. Clean walls make rooms feel bigger and brighter.
Even the most stunning Orange County homes can feel smaller or stressful if they’re not staged right.
