If you live in the western half of the United States and don’t have the Watch Duty app, you might want to get it. This is a snapshot of the active fires yesterday. Needless to say, the natural resources that are burning are the same materials we are still building homes with, which has got to change.

We are happy to share that Scott Long, the founder of NileBuilt Corp., was featured in a recent article in Forbes, a leading business magazine!

In the article, he highlighted how homebuilding is finally evolving—moving beyond outdated methods to a smarter, more resilient future.

Scott says they’ve developed a lightweight new technology—an advanced fiber composite reinforcement—that doesn’t require a steel skeleton, bends like wood during earthquakes, doesn’t combust, and is lower cost to build based on design and volume.

Fire-resistant construction makes all the difference.

Take British investor Simon Nixon's home, for example—built with cast-in-place concrete and steel reinforcement, it withstood the Palisades Fire while others burned.

We can’t prevent wildfires, but we can build homes that stand strong against them.

Rebuilding after a wildfire is anything but quick. For many, it never happens at all.

In Lahaina, Maui, over 2,200 homes were destroyed by fire.

More than a year later, only 6 have been rebuilt.

Insurance challenges, permitting delays, and rising costs have made it extremely difficult for families to return.

Unfortunately, most homes are not designed to survive a wildfire.

Wood ignites at 600°F, and once a fire spreads, entire neighbourhoods are taken out.

NileBuilt is changing that. New homes which are fire-resistant to withstand extreme heat for hours.

Families shouldn’t have to start over, they should have a home that lasts.

It’s bad enough that wildfires alone cause so much damage.

𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬: 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Burned soil becomes as water-resistant as pavement, meaning rainwater can’t soak in. Even a small storm can quickly turn into a dangerous flood.

On top of that, charred soil absorbs heat and sends it upward, which can trigger thunderstorms. This creates a cycle of extreme weather, making a bad situation even worse.

The impact doesn’t stop when the flames go out.

But with smart forestry management, like controlled burns and vegetation thinning, we can help reduce the risk before disaster strikes.

Business Insider recently featured NileBuilt’s Founder, Scott Long, on the urgent need for change in homebuilding.

Scott points out, "Wood components are literally the worst possible product you could use in the event of high winds, flooding, or fire since they burn (unlike concrete) and aren't as sturdy as, say, steel."
