For decades, the standard for a mortgage down payment was 20%. But this isn’t actually the case anymore.

If you are considered a qualified homebuyer, you could get approved for a loan for much less than 20% down. And if you or your spouse served in the military or worked with the USDA, you can even be approved for 0% down.
