Process
1. Property owner schedules a Time-of-Sale Inspection with the City
2. Property owner hires a sewer line inspector to complete a televised sewer line inspection
3. Immediate hazards are addressed by the owner or assumed by the buyer
4. Certificate of Property Maintenance is issued

🏘️ HOUSING MARKET REPORT📈

The Minnesota housing market, along with the weather, is heating up. Seller activity increased, and buyers were also more active compared to last April. Home prices and inventory both rose.

Here are a few of the key year-over-year indicators for April 2024:
⬆️ Closed Sales up 17.9% to 5,465
⬆️ Median Sales Price up 4.5% to $350,000
⬅️ Days on the Market unchanged at 42
⬆️ Homes for Sale up 18.2% to 12,408

Despite increases in sales and inventory, the statewide market is still undersupplied. Low supply continues to push prices higher. As a result, affordability has declined and remains a primary obstacle to homeownership, particularly for first-time buyers.

The City of Cambridge participates in the Adopt-a-Drain program to help protect our local lakes and streams from pollutants and foreign material. The program is very easy to sign up for and is completely free to you! This is a great way to teach kids on how to help care for their waters, their communities, and their world! As a reminder, if anything is wrong with the drains or is too cumbersome to remove from the drain contact Public Works for assistance.

After signing up, follow these simple steps:

1. Grab a broom, gloves, and a bag and head to your drain. Put your gloves on before handling any material on the storm drain grate.

2. Remember, never remove the storm drain grate. Only clean the surface of the storm drain grate. Look through the storm drain grate after cleaning and if the pipe below appears to have a large amount of material build-up, please contact Public Works at (763) 689-1800.

3. Remove material on the storm drain grate if safe to do so and if possible, remove material from the adjacent gutters as well.

4. Bag the material and separate into the appropriate receptacles. Leaves can be composted, cans can be recycled, trash can be put into your garbage cans.

5. Log your material removed on the Adopt-a-Drain dashboard. This allows city staff to plan out optimized cleaning schedules for street sweeping!
