Chages are coming to the National Parks, like more free entrance days. The fee for the annual pass is still the same for residents, but increasing for non-residents. There will now be an electronic version of the annual pass so you don’t have to remember your card every time!

Do you enjoy fireworks?

Several things to remember if you use fireworks in Fremont County:

• Only legal, “safe and sane” fireworks are allowed.

• Illegal-use fireworks include bottle rockets, sky rockets, roman candles,
firecrackers, missiles, parachutes, sky flyers, display shells and aerial items. (IC 39-2602)

• Any fireworks being misused may be seized by law enforcement officers. (IC 39-2613)
o This includes:
 Throwing fireworks from, into or at a moving vehicle or person
 Altering fireworks
 Use of fireworks in an unsafe manner

• Fireworks are never allowed on federal lands, regardless of the time of year. (Title 43 CFR 9212)

• A permit is required by the local fire department for those wanting to hold a public display of aerial fireworks. A one million dollar bond for personal injury and property damage is required at the time of application. (IC 39-2605)

• The parents or other persons having custody, control or supervision of a minor shall be liable for damage caused by the use of fireworks by the minor. (IC 39-2611)

• Non-aerial fireworks may be sold at retail and used beginning midnight June 23rd and ending midnight July 5th. (IC 39-2606)

• Persons caught using aerial fireworks may be charged criminally and remaining aerial fireworks may be seized by law enforcement. (IC 39-2613)

• Any person responsible for starting a fire or causing damage with fireworks is financially responsible for all expenses and damages related to extinguishing the fire. (IC 39-2613)

• A permit is required to operate a temporary firework stand in Fremont County. (IC 39-2604)

✅ Whistle it while you paddle! Every vessel needs one
✅ No booze cruising. Impaired paddlers can be arrested
✅ Don’t forget your Idaho Invasive Species Sticker!
✅ Paddle smart! Stay visible, stay sober, and keep to the side of busy channels

Spring is coming 🩷

Starting tomorrow, April 5, spring biking will open on the 49-mile stretch between the West Entrance and the North Entrance! 🚴‍♀️

Although this road corridor remains closed to public vehicles, it won’t be completely free of traffic. Cyclists will still encounter administrative traffic and construction vehicles, including heavy equipment and plows. All cyclists must ride single file on the right shoulder of the road and follow the same traffic laws as automobiles.
