Ask what happens if something breaks at 9pm on a Friday. A good landlord will offer information ahead of time and answer every one of your questions without hesitating. This year, Ithaca watched what happens when a building gets bought, mismanaged, and abandoned all at once. Tenants were forced out with almost no notice. Dozens of eviction filings followed, against the very people who had just been displaced, along with a cash offer to sign away their rights during the worst weeks of their year. That is what a big, distant ownership structure can look like when things go wrong. West Shore has been owned by the same family since 1967. Before you sign a lease, you deserve to know the home has already passed inspection, not that it is scheduled to get around to it eventually. Every Certificate of Compliance across our properties is current right now, most with years left before the next inspection is even due. That is not an accident. We track every expiration date and start preparing months in advance, because a family choosing where to live for the year deserves a landlord who is already ready. It is one more quiet way West Shore has stayed accountable since 1967.
