🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨

Today I was contacted by a woman who believed she was renting one of my listings and was about to send THOUSANDS of dollars to a scammer for keys 😳

Thankfully, she reached out to me before sending payment.

After speaking with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, we confirmed this is part of a growing scam happening across Mid-Michigan, including Clinton, Gratiot, Ingham, and Isabella counties.

⚠️ What scammers are doing:
• Stealing real listing photos
• Using real agent names & brokerages (including mine)
• Communicating through text, email, or fake profiles
• Asking for deposits or rent BEFORE any legitimate process
• Promising keys after payment (which NEVER happens)

⚠️ RED FLAGS:
• “Too good to be true” rental pricing
• Pressure to send money quickly
• Requests for wire transfers, Cash App, Venmo, or gift cards
• No in-person showing or verified access
• You never spoke directly with a licensed agent

✅ PROTECT YOURSELF:
• ALWAYS verify listings directly through my office
• Call me at my verified number (listed publicly)
• Never send money without seeing a property AND signing proper documents
• Ask for identification and brokerage verification

I will NEVER ask you to send money for keys without proper contracts and verification through my brokerage.
