I'm excited to share that today I presented House Bill 873, on the House floor. This bill is authored by Clay Mansell, and co authored by myself and others. This bill aims to establish a "Purple Alert" - an alert system similar to the Silver Alert, but specifically for individuals with cognitive disabilities.

I'm delighted to announce that the House has passed this bill unanimously. I would like to express my gratitude to Clay for allowing me to co-author this legislation and to Mika Hartman for providing invaluable support and advocacy. I'm also grateful to the ENTIRE chamber for their contributions and support in passing this bill.

Once passed, Mississippi will be the second state to have a Purple Alert (alongside Florida).
