Jackson isn’t just The City With Soul, it’s also one of the best values in the country.
Jackson was recently ranked America’s 2nd-most affordable college town with a Division 1 school by Realtor.com
There are quite a few colleges and universities in the metro: Jackson State Athletics, Belhaven University, Millsaps College, to name a few.
There is also thriving music and art scene 👋. We just recently hosted Phoebe Bridgers, Bob Dylan, and Wilco thanks to Thalia Mara Hall and ardenland / Duling Hall, not to mention upcoming Damien Jurado and Great Lake Swimmers shows or the wealth of other, more local music happening at things like Couch Fest at Urban Foxes JXN or nightly Jazz at Louise's Piano Bar & Jazz Club or consistently great music at Hal and Mal's. RIP to the 2 Chainz Aka Tity Boi concert, maybe y’all can still make it happen in the future.
Also, housing is incredibly affordable in JXN, which gives students (graduate and undergraduate) as well as folks looking for home after graduation, plenty of reasons to put down roots, whether that’s renting or buying a home.
There’s this unfortunate perception that Jackson just is not where it’s at. But listen, we’ve all been incredibly blessed to call this city home. Sure, we’re in the business of selling Jackson. But this certainly makes it easy to sell!
