At Buckner’s Family Restaurant in Jackson, Georgia, people gather around big round tables where the food spins on a lazy Susan in the middle. Plates of fried chicken, pot roast, creamed corn, green beans, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and hot biscuits circle the table while everyone helps themselves. The servers keep bringing more dishes until you’ve had all you want. At the end of the meal, big bowls of peach cobbler and banana pudding usually make their way around the table too. Everything here is all-you-can-eat and served family-style, so folks pass plates back and forth just like at a big Sunday dinner.
