🏡 REAL ESTATE: THINK ABOUT IT…
MYTH: “I need to renovate everything before I sell my home.”
Not necessarily.
We’ve talked with sellers who have a whole list of projects they think they have to complete before putting their home on the market.
New countertops. New flooring. New bathroom. New appliances. New everything.
But before you start spending thousands of dollars, ask yourself:
Will a buyer actually pay me more for this than I’m about to spend?
Sometimes the answer is yes.
Sometimes the answer is absolutely not.
Buyers notice condition, but that doesn’t mean they expect every home to be brand new.
A clean, well-maintained home with a few smart updates can sometimes make a much bigger impact than an expensive renovation.
And remember—your taste may not be your buyer’s taste.
You could spend $20,000 creating the kitchen you love, only to have the next owner walk in and immediately start talking about changing it.
That’s why I recommend talking with your Real Estate Professional before starting major projects if you’re thinking about selling.
Let’s look at your home, your competition, your price range, and what buyers in your market actually care about.
Then we can decide where your money is best spent—and where you should leave things alone.
💡 Don’t renovate just to renovate. Renovate strategically.
Sometimes the smartest pre-listing improvement is knowing what NOT to spend money on.
