Durden Surveying and Mapping, Inc Third Generation professional Surveying and Mapping company serving Northeast Florida since 1944. Durden Surveying and Mapping, Inc. is a family owned company.

Started originally by Jacksonville Beach's very own Bruce Durden Jr. Bruce has continued follow in his Grand Father and Father's foot steps to being a successful Professional Land Surveyor. In 1944 "PeeWee" Durden, as everyone in Jacksonville Beach would call him, Bruce's grand father started H.A. Durden and Associates. Then Bruce's father, Bruce Durden Sr. named Durden Land Surveyors his own, whi

ch then gave Bruce Jr the opportunity to receive the experience in surveying that he has today. Bruce Jr. started surveying at age 12 as just a Rod-Man. He has since, of course, worked his way up to owning his own company but to this day he would rather work in the field surveying, doing hard labor than sitting at a desk. Having two very intelligent and experienced men in the field of land surveying to look up to his entire life, Bruce Sr. and "PeeWee", Bruce has overcome so many obstacles in the career of a Professional Land Surveyor. But losing Bruce Durden Sr. in 2001 was one of the toughest things we all had to face. Sadly the family business that was started in 1944 wasn't passed down to Bruce Jr. like his father wanted. Everything happens for a reason because Durden Surveying and Mapping, Inc. opened by Bruce Jr. has been a well known surveying company since the late 80's. Bruce Durden Jr born and raised here in Jacksonville Beach has made it through these tough times, so far. And the he or the company couldn't have done it without the friends and family that have been by our sides through these difficult times. We appreciate all of our clients that have stuck with us to this day, the ones that haven't and ones that hopefully read this and just got a laugh at Bruce's grand father's nickname.The Durden family has been surveying for over 65 years now and we hope to keep on for many more years to come. The United States have a growing demand for surveyors...

Employment Growth: The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 6% growth in employment for surveyors from 2023 to 2033, which is faster than the average for all occupations.

Job Openings: Approximately 4,000 job openings for surveyors are projected each year over the decade, driven by the need to replace retiring workers and meet increasing demand.

Median Salary: As of May 2024, the median annual wage for surveyors in the U.S. was $72,740.

CAD TECH (land surveying) - 3rd Generation Family Land Surveying business looking to grow but not too big for quality to suffer –
Durden Surveying and Mapping, Inc. (Jacksonville Beach, FL)

Engineer design/Topo, Boundary, Tree and ALTA with few small As-Builts and minimal mortgage/lot surveys
• Salary based on experience in surveying
• Knowledge of setting points for small construction layout is a very small part of our business.
• Experience with Carlson Survey software is preferred, which is a Land Survey Specific version of the most popular AutoCad
• Completion of FEMA Elevation Certificates would be a plus
• Ability to research the required public records and analyze data required in producing quality surveys of all types
• Ability to read and possibly help write legal descriptions is preferred
• Self-motivated / Team Player

Position: FT, in-office, 8 hrs/day (8-5pm), Monday-Friday (PT is not out of the question, may be discussed)

Tonight! The first night of the Jimmy Mingo Tribute Race weekend featuring Top Gun Sprints, Outlaw 4s, Street Stocks, Gladiators, V-8 Warriors and Micro Sprints. Special time tonight only - pit gates at 5, grandstand at 6, hot laps at 7:30, race time is 8 p.m.
