The National Center for Housing Management (NCHM) was founded in 1972 by Presidential Executive Order #11668. We take our role as the only private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) training and education organization in the housing industry with a great sense of pride and responsibility. Our mission, vision, and values statements reflect this sense of duty in our commitment to our customers in the field of housing. Vision Statement

Our vision for the future is one in which the housing industry of the United States is marked by excellence at all levels of management. At the core of this vision is the belief that the housing industry maintains one of the most fundamental resources in our society: shelter. We believe that the long term strategic development and maintenance of this resource cannot be successful unless all housing professionals are held to a level of excellence and accountability through education and certification requirements. Only the National Center for Housing Management, as the independent leader of the housing industry since 1972, has the resources and will to make this vision a reality.
