This past weekend Hurd Construction Management - a BHRS Company and BHRS Companies cooked it up for the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off! Blessings in a Backpack was the proud co-host and beneficiary of this amazing event.

Mission accomplished raising over $32,000! All proceeds from the event directly benefited the Blessings in a Backpack programs at four Beaches area schools: Mayport Middle, Seabreeze Elementary, Atlantic Beach Elementary, and Neptune Beach Elementary.

It takes great people to make great things happen!

Today we recognize Jake Nelson who joined BHRS Companies as our corporate controller. This June will milestone 2 years since first joining! As the corporate controller, Jake wears many hats, and primarily oversees our financial administration and accounting practices.

When not beating that 10-key you can probably find him circling his birdies on the golf course...he's pretty good!

We are grateful for Jake's efforts, leadership, and professionalism he brings to the BHRS Companies family every day!

Great discussion and information on the Trends and Considerations of Adaptive Reuse hosted by AIA Jacksonville and UF College of Design, Construction and Planning's JaxLab.

The presenter Steve Smith of Cooper Carry - The Center for Connective Architecture showcased their work on The Foundry adaptive reuse project which transformed an obsolete 600,000 SF office building into a 520-unit mixed-use residential destination that has catalyzed development in the surrounding neighborhood.
