Kerry obtained his BS degree in Health Care Administration from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ill in 1981, and a BBA Degree in Information Systems Management from National University, San Diego, CA in 1984. Kerry retired from the U.S. Navy after completing 20 years of active service, where he worked as an Environmental Health Specialist for 16 of the 20 years. While teaching in Advanced Hospital Corps School for the Navy he was an associate professor for George Washington University for 3 years. Kerry obtained his Real Estate License in 1996 and received his Brokers License in 1998. He has been an active member of the Jacksonville Board of Realtors, since obtaining his license, serving as the Equal Opportunity Committee Chairperson in 1997 and as Treasurer for 1998, 1999, and 2000. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for 1998, 1999 and 2000. Kerry is a standing member of the Professional Standards and Grievance review committee for the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS. Kerry was awarded his GRI on Sept 25, 1997, his CRS October 1999, and he received his Certificate of Completion for Mediation Training from NCREEF in December 1999. Kerry was the owner and instructor for the Onslow Real Estate Institute from June 2000 until June 2018, when he decided to retire from teaching. Kerry is a past member of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association.
