❤️ 29 years. It’s honestly hard to believe.
On September 22, 1997, a 20-year-old version of Tina walked into Prudential and started answering phones in the Individual Life Insurance Call Center.
I was young. I was learning. And I certainly had no idea that I had just walked through the doors of a company that would become part of my life for the next 29 years.
I’m 49 now.
That means I’ve spent almost 60% of my entire life at Prudential. And when I think about it that way… wow. ❤️
My career has taken me places I never could have imagined back then.
I moved from the Call Center to Intermediate & Weekly Premium, where we serviced some of Prudential’s oldest policies—including policies from the days when agents went door-to-door collecting premiums that might have been just a nickel a week. I had the opportunity to be part of preparing that historic business as Prudential moved toward demutualization.
Then came Quality Leader, Associate Manager, several years in hiring and recruiting, and eventually a leap into the world of Business Continuation.
Today, I’m part of a corporate function with global responsibilities for Business Continuation, Crisis Management and Disaster Recovery Testing.
That 20-year-old girl answering phones definitely didn’t see THAT coming. 😂
Prudential has also taken me around the country and around the world—from Florida to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Minnesota and Nevada, all the way to Panama City, Panama and Manila, Philippines. 🌎✈️
But when I think about these 29 years, the titles and places aren’t really what come to mind first.
It’s the people.
The people who took a chance on a 20-year-old kid. The leaders who taught me. The mentors who pushed me. The coworkers who became friends. The people I’ve had the privilege of hiring, developing and leading. And the countless people who have been part of my story somewhere along the way.
And then there’s everything that happened outside those Prudential walls.
I grew up.
I built a family. Raised children. Became a grandmother. Experienced incredible joy and heartbreaking loss. Changed, learned, stumbled, succeeded and figured out a little more about who I am.
And through all those different seasons of life, Prudential has been there.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities this company has given a 20-year-old girl who showed up for work on September 22, 1997, having absolutely no idea where life was going to take her.
She’d probably be pretty amazed by where we ended up. ❤️
