📬 TAX VALUES WERE RELEASED TODAY – ONSLOW COUNTY

So… what does that mean?
Are your taxes going up?

👉 Not necessarily.

Onslow County re-evaluates property values every 4 years.
Here’s how the process actually works:

🏠 Step 1:
The county updates property values using a mass appraisal system.

📨 Step 2:
New assessed values are released in February.

📊 Step 3:
The County Commissioners review and approve the county budget in June.

💰 Step 4:
The tax rate is set to meet the budget needs and published around July.

🧾 Step 5:
Tax bills are sent out later reflecting BOTH the new value and the new rate.

📌 Just because your value went up
does NOT automatically mean your taxes will jump significantly.

The tax rate hasn’t been set yet.
That happens in June.

We won’t know the full impact until then.
