FAQ Friday! Closing day is the finish line—but Beth's letting us know: what actually happens when you get there?
Sellers typically sign first; they can sign days early, earlier the same day as the buyers or at the same time.
Buyers sign all the papers the day of closing. You’ll already have wired in your down payment and closing costs, so you’ll be signing A LOT of paperwork. You’ll have seen most of it before- lender documents, HOA or condo association ones, historic district disclosure, flood disclosures, etc.
You’ll have reviewed your closing statement (also called an ALTA) to make sure it’s accurate.
Your Realtor and possibly your lender will attend closing. Depending on how long it takes for loan funds to be wired, you might be there for a little while.
Now you’ve closed! Your hand might be sore, but the excitement of leaving with the keys helps with that!
