The Florida House just took a major step toward eliminating most property taxes for homeowners!
In an 80–30 vote, lawmakers advanced a proposal that could wipe out non-school property taxes on primary (homesteaded) residences across the state.

⚠️ Nothing has changed yet, this still needs Senate approval and then would go to Florida voters in 2026.

Quick Breakdown:

✅ Applies to primary “Homestead” residences

❌ Does NOT include rental properties, second homes, or commercial properties

👮‍♂️ Requires protections for funding police, fire, and first responders

🗳️ Next stop: Senate approval → then a public vote
