Hello, my name is Edd Cobb,

I am the founder and owner of Superior Inspections. I started Superior Inspections to assist home buyers in making educated and enlightened decisions about the home they are looking to purchase. After 20 years of construction management and owning my own remodel business, I decided it was time to help home buyers avoid some of the pitfalls that I had seen people get in

to when they purchased a home. My experience in building homes from the ground up, and also taking them apart and rebuilding them to a higher standard, gives me a greater understanding of what to look for in an inspection. My instructor at American Home Inspectors Training, where I received my certification, said to me “Edd, you know far more about the workings of a home than I ever will, I am going to teach you the inspection process.” I consider that a great compliment from an inspector who has done thousands of home inspections and has trained hundreds of home inspectors. Today we pause to remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives defending this country and the freedoms we often take for granted.
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer. It is a day to honor sacrifice. To remember families forever changed. To reflect on the cost of liberty.

Most homeowners watch their shingles… but miss the things that actually cause the leaks.
Or they turn the AC off while out of town trying to save a few bucks… only to come home to moisture, mildew, and musty smells. Around here in Florida, your AC does more than cool the house. It helps control humidity too.
And here’s one most people never think about: Where your water softener drains matters. That salty brine discharge can slowly damage concrete, steel, and masonry if it drains near the home.
Small maintenance items turn into expensive repairs when they’re ignored long enough.
A little attention today can save a whole lot of headache tomorrow.

Happy Mother’s Day Mama ❤️
I don’t think I could ever fully put into words how thankful I am for you. You gave my brother and me a childhood filled with love, laughter, kindness, and faith. You played with us, cared for us, prayed for us, and taught us what it means to truly love people the way God intended.
One of the greatest gifts you gave us was showing us kindness wasn’t something you just talked about on Sundays. You lived it every day. You taught us to care for people, to notice the hurting, and to love others even when it costs something.
And you didn’t stop with us. Over the years, you became a second mom to so many kids who needed one. You opened your heart, your arms, and your home to people who needed the love and tenderness of a good mama. There are dozens of lives better because of the way you chose to love people.
I am so proud to be your son. Happy Mother’s Day to one of the kindest, funniest, strongest, and most loving women I know. We love you more than words can say.

Not everything we find on a roof is roofing related. During this home inspection on an older coastal Florida home, we found a damaged overhead electrical service attachment caused by long-term rust and corrosion.
The metal bracket that supports the tension wire failed, leaving the stress load being carried by the live electrical service conductors themselves. That can create a serious safety hazard and lead to damage to the electrical service entry system.
Salt air, moisture, and age can quietly wear down important components homeowners rarely think about. Another reason a thorough home inspection matters, especially near the Florida coast.
At Superior Inspections, we inspect more than just the obvious. Every inspection should be a Superior Inspection.

Today’s electrical panel inspection came with an unexpected resident. Open knockouts in electrical panels should always be sealed. Those openings can let pests sneak inside looking for warmth… including snakes apparently. 😅
