Four years ago, Floyd was homeless. Today, this 70-year-old veteran is a first-time homeowner.
After Floyd found hope and healing with Evansville Rescue Mission, he started to dream about buying a home. REALTOR® Kristina Rhodes helped him find the right one.
Then the ERA real estate family surprised Floyd with a porch full of household items, furniture, gift cards—and even a lawnmower. As word got around about Floyd’s journey, agents from other companies dropped off their own gifts.
”Floyd told me the first day he woke up in his home he made coffee, sat in his sunroom and listened to the birds,” says Kristina. “It made me think about how much I take for granted. Such a simple thing brought him so much joy.”
From homelessness to homeownership, Floyd’s story is one of grit, determination and hope.
