Top 6 Benefits of Owning vs. Renting 🤔

1. Build Equity:
When you own a home, a portion of each mortgage payment helps build your ownership interest in the property. Rent payments help build your landlord's equity instead.

2. More Stable Housing Costs:
While property taxes and insurance can change, homeowners with a fixed rate mortgage enjoy more predictable monthly principal and interest payments than renters who may face annual rent increases.

3. Opportunity to Build Wealth:
Over time, home values have historically appreciated, helping many homeowners grow their net worth while building equity.

4. Freedom to Personalize Your Space:
Homeowners have the ability to paint, renovate, decorate, and make improvements that fit their lifestyle and needs.

5. Potential Tax Advantages:
Depending on your situation, homeownership may provide certain tax benefits. Consult a qualified tax professional for advice specific to your circumstances.

6. A Greater Sense of Stability:
Owning a home can provide a stronger connection to your community and the peace of mind that comes with having a place to call your own.

Think homeownership is years away? The best time to start the conversation is now. A local REALTOR® and lender can help you understand your options, explore loan programs, and create a plan that works for your goals and timeline.

June is National Homeownership Month! 🏠

One of the biggest myths in real estate is that you have to be ready to buy a home before talking to a lender or REALTOR®. The truth? Getting pre-approved is the first step whether you're hoping to buy in a few months or a few years.

A pre-approval helps you:
✅ Understand your budget
✅ Explore different loan options
✅ Identify opportunities to improve your buying power
✅ Create a plan to reach your homeownership goals

Many buyers are surprised to learn about loan programs they may qualify for, including:
• Conventional Loans
• FHA Loans
• VA Loans
• USDA Loans
• Down Payment Assistance Programs

You don't have to have perfect credit, a huge down payment, or all the answers before starting the conversation. By connecting with a local lender and REALTOR®, you'll gain valuable insight into today's market, current interest rates, and the steps needed to achieve your goals.

No matter where you are in the process, knowledge is power and a simple conversation today could put you on the path to homeownership sooner than you think.
