⚠️ WIRE FRAUD IS REAL — AND IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU

As your real estate agent, it’s my job to protect you - not just through the negotiation and closing process, but from threats you might not even see coming.

Wire fraud in real estate transactions is on the rise, and it has devastating consequences.

A colleague recently shared this: a buyer wired their $170,000 down payment using instructions received by email - instructions that came from a hacked lender account. The money is gone. The FBI is now involved. 😮

This is not a rare story. Unfortunately, this is happening every day.

Here’s what I want every buyer to know:

🔒 ALWAYS verify wire instructions by phone before sending any money. Call your title company or lender directly using a number you looked up yourself - not one from the email.

🔒 Never trust a last-minute change to wire instructions. Fraudsters count on the urgency of closing day to catch you off guard.

🔒 When in doubt, call me. I would rather slow down a closing than have a client lose their life savings.

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make. Let’s make sure every step of the process is protected.
