Rent, Utility Assistance for Kentuckians Now Available!!

Kentucky's portal for COVID-19 rent and utility relief opened at 8 a.m. today. Kentuckians can now apply for assistance, dating back to April 2020.

Governor Andy Beshear announced Thursday, February 11, that Kentucky recently received $297 million in federal Coronavirus Relief Funds to help prevent evictions for renters impacted economically by COVID-19.

Funding from the U.S. Treasury was sent to three Kentucky jurisdictions – the state of Kentucky, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, and Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government. All three programs will offer the same rent assistance to approved applicants – 100 percent of past-due rent, dating back to April 2020, and up to three months of future payments.

Those applying through the Team Kentucky and Fayette County portals can also apply for help with past-due and future utility bills. Jefferson County’s separate utility relief program is available via another link on its website.

The https://teamkyhherf.ky.gov application allows for third-party applicants. Friends, family members, landlords and others can help tenants complete an online application.

We are delighted to see and share beautiful photos of the 2016 Junior-Senior Prom.

I thought you might be interested to know that the 2016 Junior-Senior Prom for Jenkins High School was held in the gymnasium of Jenkins School. As a 1963 graduate of the school, it was very special to see prom being held once again in this beloved building. I am including a picture taken by the parent of one of the students.
Thank you for preserving this building for the people of Jenkins for many years to come!

A special Grassroots Partner Award was shared by Old Jenkins School Renovation Committee and AU Associates Inc. of Lexington, for the preservation and restoration of historic Jenkins School.
