Applies to all rental dwellings built before 1978, including:
β’ Single-family rentals
β’ Two-family homes
β’ Multi-unit buildings

π Inspection Types
β’ Visual Inspection: Certified inspectors check for peeling, chipping, cracking, or deteriorated paint.
β’ Dust Wipe Sampling: Dust is collected and tested for lead hazards. Some towns require this instead of visual-only.

β’ Issued after passing inspection
β’ Valid for 2 years

π Exemptions
Properties with a Lead-Free Certification (often via XRF testing) are fully exempt from ongoing inspections.

Depending on your town:

β’ Require you to hire a private Lead Evaluation Contractor
