New restaurant venture from local restaurateurs, Buddy Capps and Travis Penn, with support from Vision LLC, set to open soon.

BRISTOL, Va. — A new dining destination is preparing to make its Bristol debut in the region as Tin Roof Kitchen Co. announces plans to open its doors soon, bringing handcrafted pizza, a welcoming atmosphere, and the experience of two well-known local restaurant owners to the community.

Tin Roof Kitchen Co. is the newest concept from Buddy Capps and Travis Penn, the team behind the popular Delta Blues locations serving customers in Bristol, Abingdon, and South Holston Lake. Known for creating laid-back environments, high quality food, and strong community connections, the owners are excited to introduce a fresh new experience centered around wood fire pizza and smash burgers, family dining, and warm service.

Penn says “We’re excited to bring Tin Roof Kitchen Co. to Bristol — a place built around great food, genuine hospitality, and a laid-back atmosphere that brings people together. Our goal is to create something that feels both new and familiar to the community, with wood-fired pizza, smash burgers, and a space full of character, energy, and soul.”
The restaurant will feature handcrafted, wood fire pizzas and flavorful smash burgers made with fresh ingredients, along with a menu designed to offer something for everyone. Guests can expect a comfortable atmosphere that combines the charm of a neighborhood gathering place with the energy and quality customers have come to expect from the Delta Blues brand and the Tin Roof Kitchen Co. located in Abingdon, VA.

The project was made possible in part through the partnership and support of Vision LLC, the property owner behind the development. Vision LLC has played many key roles in helping this region in the continued growth and investment in the local community. Vision LLC has led commercial property development in Downtown Bristol for more than 20 years.

Bristol Sessions Nights Announces New Ticket Pricing, Expanding Access to Music Series

Organizers of Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 have announced that tickets for the yearlong cultural series celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1927 Bristol Sessions will now cost just $27 per event, a move designed to make the experience accessible to a wider audience as Bristol prepares for one of the most significant milestones in American music history.

The reduced ticket price is made possible through support from cornerstone sponsors including Tennessee Hills Distillery, the Tennessee Entertainment Commission, and additional regional partners committed to expanding access to the series while preserving its intentionally intimate format. Attendance for each event will remain capped at 100 guests. A full-series passport covering all twelve events is now available for $300.

Beginning May 22, 2026, and continuing through April 2027, Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 will guide audiences through the music, stories, and cultural legacy born from the 1927 Bristol Sessions, recognized by the U.S. Congress as the single most important event in the history of country music. Those original sessions launched the careers of The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers and helped shape a genre that continues to influence American culture nearly a century later.

“Today, Tennessee’s music industry is a globally recognized brand generating billons annually to the state’s economy,” said Tennessee Entertainment Commission Executive Director Bob Raines. “The Tennessee Entertainment Commission is honored to be supporting the Bristol Sessions Nights series and lead up to the 100th year celebration of the big bang of country music.”

Hosted inside the historic L.C. King Building in downtown Bristol, the series is designed as an immersive storytelling experience combining live music, history, conversation, and regional culture in an intimate setting. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with programming beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the third Friday of each month.

“As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Bristol Sessions, we recognize that this isn’t just something to celebrate; it’s something to elevate, and that’s what Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 is all about,” said Bristol, Tennessee Mayor Vince Turner. “These event nights are also an opportunity to lift up our local businesses; our restaurants, shops, and other small business owners who are such an essential part of what makes Bristol special. Come early for shopping and dining, stay for the unforgettable music experience, and stick around after to experience everything our downtown has to offer.”

Bristol Sessions Nights: Road to 100 is a 12-night cultural series produced by the City of Bristol, Tennessee in partnership with the East Tennessee State University Appalachian Music Collective, ETSU Appalachian Studies, and Tennessee Hills Distillery. The Birthplace of Country Music provides historical stewardship for the series. The Tennessee Entertainment Commission and the Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association connect the series to statewide and regional tourism audiences.
